It’s Saturday night, and I’m sitting here working on the next book in the Stargazer series. Or at least I was, until I started wondering WHY? I put in 7 hours at my day-job today, which is pretty good considering I already had 48 hours in this week. It’s our busy season and I probably won’t see a day off for the next month and a half. I’m not complaining, that’s just the way it is. But then, when I come home, I sit down and start on my other job, my writing.
Writing isn’t like a job. It’s an escape. There’s all these characters, just waiting for me to visit them and let htem out to play on the screen of my laptop. Sometimes they drive me crazy and refuse to cooperate. Sometimes they do everything I want them to, and the words just fly onto the page. Sometimes I’m as surprised by the plot twists as the rest of you. But it’s an adventure,one that I’m willing to give up some of my precious spare time to participate in. That’s how it works, at least for me. The characters come and whisper to me, inviting me to play with them on the pages of the story. Writing is escapism at its best – and I can’t imagine not telling the stories. Now that I’m published and I get to share them with all of you, it’s even better!
So I guess I should go back to the salon of the Imperial Palace on Zanadle and see how Jazlyn and Bryce are doing. They’ve only just met, and things are starting to get interesting. LOL With that, I’m off to a planet far, far away! Enjoy your weekend.
This is a new site just full of book trailers – those cool little mini-videos that tell you all about upcoming and available books. Ive got three of my book videos listed there – and I plan to get the next one up soon. It’s a wonderful site with a page for each book and all the relevant info right in front of you.
