Wow! Firestorm is a Changeling Anthology that was put together to benefit disaster relief. I submitted a short story – Shifting Priorities and was pleased that it did well in sales – after all it was a good cause. Later, I expanded on the theme and wrote a three book series based on the World I created in that short story.

We were all thrilled when Firestorn was nominated for a Capa. It was up against a couple of big NY anthologies which I felt showed just how good ebooks really were. Then I found out that it WON!! I think I’m still in shock.

And very very proud to be a Changeling Author.

Your idea of fun on a Saturday afternoon is picking up the grandkids and going swimming.  I took the eleven year old and the two year old to the local pool and we had a great time. There’s diving boards, a rope / swing to jump in the pool off of, and lots of foam boats and other stuff to play in and on. There’s also a nice kiddie pool with a little slide and some animals fountains for the little guy.

Well, the little guy is a red head and very… focused. His brother was in the big pool and he saw no reason why he should stay in the boring little pool. I put a life jacket on him and let him go. At two and an half feet tall, he can’t reach the bottom of any where in the big pool. At the end of two and a half hours, I had to drag the two of them out of the water to go get some supper. I took them to McDonalds, and let them loose in the playland for another hour. Then I fed them some ice cream and took them home. I figure it’s cheaper than a gym membership, just as much excercise and a whole lot more fun. I can’t wait for summer so we can go swimming in the river. And maybe the youngest one can join us, too.

I just finished writing the first book in  a new series – STARGAZERS. It’s not through edits yet, but I’m really excited about it. The premise is based on the theory of ley lines. Those are the mythical (or real, depending on your outlook) power lines that bisect the Earth. Witches and Druids, and other mystics were said to have tapped into the powers of the ley lines in order to perform their magic.

Now fast forward several  centuries.

Stargazers are females who are born with the ability to see and harness the powers of the ley lines that join the heavenly bodies (stars, suns, moons, asteroids) They can use this power for a multitude of purposes, including powering a space ship so that it is “running silently” and can sneak into enemy space without being detected.  They also have other lesser abilities that vary from person to person. As you can imagine, the services of the Stargazers are highly prized and sought after.

In the first book – Stargazers: Wanton -  A cynical, but very handsome cyborg named Tarik finds dealing with a Stargazer can be alot more difficult than he imagined. Here’s the blurb.:

When Tarik’s brother is captured by the Intergalactic Council, the handsome cyborg realizes he’ll need the help of a Stargazer if a rescue mission is to succeed. Problem is, as the leader of the rebellion he can’t just advertise for a Stargazer willing to flaunt the Intergalactic Council.

But when he kidnaps Krystal, he is completely unprepared for the irresistibly sexy young woman with a gentle soul. Now he’s torn between rescuing his brother and his growing attraction to the talented witch.

The release date is March 13th – from Changeling Press.
